Born to Win: ACDelco “Drive to Win” Promotion Finalist Receives 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS

GRAND BLANC, Mich., Nov. 28, 2007 — With a total of 36 career national event victories and the longest active winning streak in the Pro Stock category, NHRA standout Kurt Johnson – driver of the ACDelco-sponsored Chevrolet Cobalt – knows what it is like to win. Meanwhile, Gordon Born has never raced professionally, but following this year’s ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, the Waseca, Minn., native is similarly familiar with that winning feeling as the grand-prize recipient in the ACDelco – Kurt Johnson “Drive to Win“ sweepstakes.

Born won a 2007 Cobalt SS, equipped with Genuine Chevrolet Accessories, in the promotion when his key started the vehicle during pre-race ceremonies at the recent ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals.

Born, a consumer, entered the promotion through the ACDelco Web site, www.acdelco.com. He beat out fellow finalist Jim Reiner, a technician at Big Jim’s Extreme Automotive in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a service center that participates in ACDelco’s Total Service Support (TSS) program. Professional wrestling icon and reality TV star Hulk Hogan, who served as the race’s Grand Marshal, joined ACDelco executives and Johnson in presenting the finalists with their respective key fobs, which ultimately decided who would take the car home.

Once Born was able to claim the victory by unlocking the Cobalt, the VIPs congratulated both contestants on reaching the final round.
