ACDelco Adds CoverageOne to Its Vehicle Service Plan Offerings

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – The CoverageOne Vehicle Service Plan (VSP), offered through ACDelco, is designed to protect used-car buyers from unexpected repair costs due to breakdowns and is available for almost every make, including Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chrysler and GM. ACDelco is pleased to add CoverageOne to its offerings to Independent Service Centers (ISCs) that participate in ACDelco's Total Service Support (TSS) program.

Under the terms of the CoverageOne VSP, ACDelco TSS shops that install and sell ACDelco parts are preferred providers of repairs. If a covered repair is needed, a CoverageOne customer service representative will help vehicle owners identify one of the 8,000+ ACDelco TSS Independent Service Centers (ISCs) in the United States.

Consumers also can benefit from the CoverageOne VSP. Not only does CoverageOne offer peace of mind with several plans from which to choose, but it also is easy to purchase. Because the CoverageOne VSP is marketed and sold directly through the Internet at www.coverageone.com, consumers are only a few mouse clicks away from purchasing a contract for any eligible vehicle.* A customer can make a purchase at any time she or he owns the vehicle.

The CoverageOne Vehicle Service Plan, offered through ACDelco, consists of three separate plans:

• The CoverageOne Basic plan covers repair and replacement of a vehicle's major powertrain components during or after a mechanical breakdown, including breakdown caused by normal wear and tear.
• CoverageOne's Enhanced plan is a comprehensive plan that covers not only the powertrain components, but also most of the major mechanical components.
• The CoverageOne Seller's Advantage Program is a 3-month, 3,000-mile VSP designed to help a vehicle sell faster and virtually eliminate any major concern a future buyer might have.

In addition, out-of-warranty vehicles must pass an inspection before they qualify for CoverageOne, and ACDelco TSS shops are the preferred inspection facility for CoverageOne customers. There is no cost for TSS shops to participate, but they must honor the terms of the ACDelco Universal Warranty Corporation agreement with regard to parts and labor.

All CoverageOne VSPs provide additional benefits, such as towing / roadside assistance; lost key or lockout service; a free rental car during repairs; and trip interruption insurance for unplanned motel / hotel and restaurant expenses due to vehicle breakdowns.

The CoverageOne VSP is backed by the financial strength and expertise of Motors Insurance Corporation and administered by Universal Warranty Corporation, both subsidiaries of GMAC Insurance.

The CoverageOne VSP is offered to ACDelco TSS members in addition to Universal Warranty's Vehicle Service Contract (VSC). The VSC is marketed through independent used-vehicle dealers with 12-, 24- and 36-month contracts available for almost every vehicle make. Like the CoverageOne VSP, ACDelco TSS shops that install and sell ACDelco parts also are preferred providers of repairs under the terms of the VSC.

The difference between the two contracts is in how they are purchased. Customers have the option of purchasing Universal Warranty's Vehicle Service Contract directly from the used-vehicle dealer at the time they purchase their vehicles. Conversely, the CoverageOne Vehicle Service Plan can be purchased at any time and the transaction can be performed over the Internet.
