D3EA® Certified

D3EA® is a dual-end brake testing process that is voluntary and conducted independently to assure the objectivity of results and is conducted on pads, shoes, drums and rotors where test platforms are available.

D3EA® assesses brake component output performance by replicating many vehicle factors through the use of OE vehicle components along with the replacement parts being tested on a dynamometer, followed by complex analysis using algorithms to judge the acceptability of the replacement part performance.

SAE J2784
FMVSS Inertia Dynamometer Test Procedure for Vehicles Below 4540kg GVWR is a recommended practice that is the result of an industry effort to develop inertia-dynamometer test procedures based upon the FMVSS 105 and 135 vehicle tests. Results from these tests provide a laboratory assessment of the brake corner performance. Data from this document may be combined with other brake system and vehicle characteristics to predict vehicle performance, such as by using BEEP® methodology.
