Product Background
ACDelco offers a premium line of fuel pumps. Our fuel pump history shows our commitment to quality while ensuring that all your product coverage needs are met. In 1981, ACDelco introduced an in-line electric solenoid fuel pump, used as a transfer pump to deliver fuel from the fuel tank to the carburetor or diesel injection pump. A compact modular fuel pump sender assembly was introduced in 1992 improving fuel level measurement accuracy and ensuring a constant, steady fuel supply under all conditions. (A compact modular unit includes a fuel pump, a sound isolation system and a fuel level sender.) The in-tank, or submersible, electric fuel pump is a more recent design developed to meet the increased pressure requirements of fuel injection engines. While mechanical pumps cause aeration of fuel in the gas line, in-tank submersed pumps can deliver fuel under proper pressure without aeration. |
