  • Accessible Maintenance Free – accessible removable vent caps to allow filling with distilled water if required
  • Reduced maintenance required compared to conventional Lead Antimony batteries
  • Lead Calcium expanded grids help resist corrosion, overcharging, gassing, water usage, self-discharge, and thermal runaway
  • Centered cast on internal plate strap for durability
  • Polypropylene case – reinforced design is precisely tailored to support the battery elements. With a strong durable material to help withstand road shock and vibration
  • Heat sealed covers – help prevent electrolyte contamination and maximize case strength
  • Low resistance envelope separators – encapsulated negative plates to help prevent shorting, treeing between negative and positive plates, as well as aid in vibration durability

ACDelco Advantage Garden And Lawn Mower Battery
ACDelco Car Batteries

The ACDelco Professional Garden and Lawn Mower Battery is engineered to meet the increasing deep cycle demands of modern lawn and garden tractors. It has an accessible maintenance free design that allows for filling with distilled water when necessary. Polypropylene case and heat sealed covers make ACDelco Professional Garden and Lawn Mower Batteries highly durable. They are built to help withstand vibrations caused by bumps in the lawn and rough terrain. Advancements in tractor technology and availability of user-centric features are requiring more powerful battery technology. ACDelco Professional Garden and Lawn Mower Batteries meet those needs.

ACDelco Lawn and Garden Batteries have 12 month limited warranty.

• Discharged batteries that can be recharged and returned to service.
• Cost of recharging or for use of rental batteries or vehicles.
• Labor cost for battery removal and installation.
• Batteries damaged due to charging system failure, negligence, abuse, accident, improper installation, or freezing.
• Loss of time, inconvenience, loss of vehicle use, or incidental consequential damages.

Can I use a charger that has a lower voltage rate than that of my battery?

No, ACDelco recommends that you use a charger that is sized to the required voltage and current for the batteries on charge.

Do I ever add acid to refill a battery?

No. ACDelco recommends that you only use distilled water when filling your battery.

Can I use tap water to fill my flooded battery?

No, ACDelco recommends that you only use distilled water when filling your battery.

Do I have to add acid or water to a Sealed Maintenance Free battery?

No, you are unable to access vent caps on a Sealed Maintenance Free battery.

Should I charge my battery when I pull it out of winter storage?

If Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) is 12.4V or lower you must recharge. ACDelco recommends that you periodically check your battery during the winter months/ offseason to ensure OCV is 12.4V or higher.

Can “treeing” damage my battery?

Yes, treeing can lead to a plate short and a damaged battery. Treeing occurs when a positive or negative material sheds off the plates and is redeposited to begin building a bridge or tree between a negative and positive plate.

• New batteries should be given a full charge before use.

• For best battery life, batteries should not be discharged below 80% of their rated capacity. Proper battery sizing will avoid excessive battery discharge.

• Inactivity can be extremely harmful to all lead acid batteries. ACDelco recommends the following for seasonal use:

• Completely charge the battery before storing.
• Remove all electrical connections, including series/parallel connectors.
• Store in a cool (not below freezing) place.
• When not in use, boost every two months.

• Check the battery as part of regular vehicle maintenance.

• Keep battery terminals clean and free of corrosion.

• To remove corrosion from terminals use a terminal brush.

• Check the alternator and make sure that it is not charging too high or low. If the alternator is not charging properly it will cause the battery to not charge correctly and cause deterioration.

• Avoid exposing the battery to extreme heat whenever possible.

• Turn off other electrical accessories (stereos, internal lights, etc.) as soon as they are no longer required to save electrical energy.

• A battery not in use tends to run down and create sulfate deposits. After your battery has been filled and charged, it is essential that you keep it adequately charged either by running the vehicle, or by using an independent battery charger.

Fully charged ACDelco Batteries (OCV is ≥12.7) should be stored in an upright position at temperatures between 32°F and 70°F. When a battery is stored, a very slow chemical reaction takes place between the plate materials and the electrolyte, causing a slow discharge. This reaction, called a self-discharge, occurs more rapidly at higher temperatures. Therefore, it is not recommended to store next to a furnace or other heat source. If an ACDelco Battery is completely discharged, the electrolyte will freeze when stored below 30°F. To prevent electrolyte freezing and battery damage, do not store ACDelco Batteries below 30°F if their OCV is less than 12.5volts.
